UCA - Part of the Community

UCA staff and students play an integral role in the life of the local community, bringing a variety of economic, social and cultural benefits to Farnham.

UCA is proud of its long-standing partnerships with Farnham Maltings and the New Ashgate Gallery. On Campus, UCA’s James Hockey and Foyer Galleries run exhibitions throughout the year that are open to the public and free to access.

Through the Craft Study Centre, UCA participates in the annual Farnham Craft Month held in October and the Craft Study Centre runs a shop and exhibitions showcasing the work of local artists.

Farnham Repair Café, a collaborative project between UCA’s Centre for Sustainable Design, Farnham Town Council and the Farnham United Reformed Church, is a monthly event staffed by volunteers where residents can bring household items to be repaired. Since 2015, over 1,400 people have attended the Repair Café and the total savings from repaired goods is valued at more than £45,000.
